IHC Chapter 41 Business Meeting, February 11, 2018
The meeting was called to order by Tinker Moats. The minutes from the December Business
Meeting and the January 3rd Board Meeting were read. A motion was made to accept the
minutes from both meetings as read with the correction about the group providing food for our
Summer Show. That group is the Clover Hill Ruritan Club. The motion was seconded and
approved.
Treasurer’s Report: The current balance is $5683.85. $200.00 was given to Cross Keys
Worship Center for the use of their building for meetings and fundraisers. $820.30 from the
proceeds of our auction at the Summer Show was given to the American Cancer Society. A
motion was made to accept the report as given. It was seconded and approved.
Old Business: The chapter will not be doing the 2019 Winter Convention.
Farmall A: Steve Kegley said he had the tractor cleaned up and ready to be
worked on. Eddie Bartley will help work on the governor. There will be a work day on March
10th, 10:00 A.M., at Steve Kegley’s home, 5477 Holstein Lane, McGayhesville, Va..
Cub Cadet: Tyrone will notify the chapter when he has the Cub Cadet.
Relay for Life: The team has $1218.00. The team has nine members at this
time and it needs 15 members to keep their current spot at the Fairgrounds. Please sign up.
Winona is having a miniature garden show to make gardens for Relay for Life
Auction in May.
New Business: Tinker has been invited to attend the Maryland Chapter Banquet.
There will be a meeting at the McCormick Farm on March 3rd to discuss the
next project to be implemented at the Farm.
The chapter will be receiving Steiner catalogs and door prizes for the Summer
Show.
There will be a Plow Day on March 31st at the Aery Farm in Timberville with a
rain date of April 7th.
April 21st will be the pork sandwiches fundraiser. It will start at 8:30 A.M. at
the Cross Keys Worship Center. Please pre-order sandwiches by contacting Jennifer
Puffenbarger by April 12, 2018. Call or email your order to her. The sandwiches are $3.50 and
are 4oz. Sandwiches.
There will be a meeting on the 21st also. It will be at 10:00 A.M.
Future Show Dates: 2019, June 28, 29, 30, 2019. This will be the week after
Red Power. 2020, June 26, 27, 28, 2020.
2021, June 25, 26, 27, 2021.
2018 Summer Show Report: Food: Clover Hill Ruritan Club.
Kiddie Tractor Pull – Saturday, 11:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M..
Auction: Winona handed out letters to the members and asked
them to try to get three donations per member if possible. Eddie Bartley will help with the
auction. A sheet was passed around for members to sign up to help with setting up the auction.
Advertising: There will be no back page ads this year. Only the large inside ad for the Daily News Record and radio and TV ads which are free. One ad will be placed in the Pendleton Times.
As there was no other business Steve Kegley made a motion to adjourn. It was seconded by
Mark Tanner. The motion carried.
