The meeting was called to order by Tinker Moats.
The minutes were read by Cynthia Shaver, and after a correction was noted on the date of the fundraiser, a motion was made to accept the minutes with the correction. It was seconded and approved.
The Treasurer’s Report was given by Tinker Moats. There is $5,800.00 in the checking account. A motion was made to accept the report. It was seconded and approved.
Old Business: Tinker reported that the Pedal Pull at Luray was a big success. All of the kids had a good time. Luray gave the club $300.00 for doing the pull. After discussion the club decided to add a Pedal Pull as one of our functions at Somerset next year. It would be on Saturday, September 18, 2018. Tyrone said the Pastor of Crosskeys Worship Center would do the church service for our Summer Show of 2018. Steve Kegley has said he will be the Show Chairman for our Summer Show. All committees will report to him. The Pedal Pull Shirts for the members organizing and running the Pedal Pulls at our functions have been ordered. There was discussion about the plaques for the 2018 Summer Show. The D6 and DD6 had originally been approved for the 2017 show. As the club was featuring the tractor from the McCormick Farm for the 2017 Show, it was decided to feature that tractor on the plaque for 2017. After discussion a motion was made to put the D6 and the DD6 on the plaque for the 2018 Summer Show. It was seconded and approved. A letter from the Trustees of the IHC Charitable Trust was read by Cynthia Shaver thanking us for our donation to the Trust and the appreciation of our Chapter Members for supporting “this worthwhile display of our IHC heritage”. A letter was read from David Friske, Superintendent of Virginia Tech McCormick Farm, thanking us for the participation and help in the 2017 McCormick Farm Mill Day and inviting us to participate in 13th Annual McCormick Farm Mill Day scheduled for Saturday, October 6, 2018. Tinker reported that more money than actually needed for the new display case at the McCormick Farm had been donated to the Trust.
New Business: Tinker is making an order for items to be sold at the functions our Chapter participates in. The club has been using an IH flag, displayed on our trailer, at our functions that belongs to Tinker. A motion was made for the club to purchase a flag. It was seconded and approved. There was discussion about the food for the Summer Show. The club decided to ask the Clover Hill Ruritan Club to provide the food for our Show. Tinker said he would ask them about providing food for Sunday. A motion was made to ask Clover Hill Ruritan Club to provide the food . It was seconded and approved. There was discussion about redoing our website. David is checking on this for the club. The December meeting and Christmas meal will be on December 10, 2017 at the Crosskeys Worship Center.
Elections:
Board Members: Bobby Mennifee was nominated to replace Mark Litchford. As there were no other nominations , the nominations were closed. He was elected to the Board.
Officers: A slate of Officers was presented:
President - Tinker Moats
Vice President - Tyrone Scott
Secretary - Cynthia Shaver
Treasurer - Heather Bartley
As Tyrone was a current member of the Board he resigned that position to accept the nomination as Vice President. At that time, Winona Scott was nominated to fill the remainder of his term. She was elected to the Board. As there were no other nominations, the slate of Officers was presented for a vote. A motion was made to accept the slate as presented. It was seconded and approved. The new Officers are as presented on the slate. As there was no other business, a motion was made to adjourn. It was seconded and approved.
